Spanking done correctly isn't abuse. Almost every person on this thread that was anti spanking and was spanked was spanked incorrectly. For those that were spanked correctly they didn't take issue with spanking once in a while.
Understanding the Context
It's my opinion in general people get far too involved in what goes on in others homes. Once the spanking is over, the child is restored to good standing. The sin is forgiven and forgotten. (This is the part that I think was freeing for our son.

I am not new to a to z teacher stuff, but I am new to the homeschool spot. I am not an average "home schooler" per say, but I am home with my 3 year old son and run a preschool out of my home. Does that count? No doubt spanking would be over faster than suspension, but I can't imagine a high schooler bending over for a school official to paddle him or her.
